OFFICIAL: René Girard appointed as new Wydad Casablanca manager

Moroccan giants have announced the appointment of French manager as their new manager.

Wydad Casablanca have had a bad start to season after losing their first league match and currently sitting 15th in the league table following the departure of Tunisian manager Faouzi Benzarti.

The Moroccan giants have decided to appoint experienced French manager René Girard. The 64-year-old managed a number of Ligue 1 side including Montpellier, Lille and lastly Nantes.

Girard’s career highlight was winning the Ligue 1 title during the 2011/2012 season with Montpellier with a squad including the likes of Olivier Giroud, Benjamin Stambouli and Moroccan international Younes Belhanda.
