Egypt’s Sarah Essam scores in Stoke City’s win against Sandwell
Egyptian football player Sarah Essam scored as Stoke City women team thrashed Sandwell 1-4 in the West Midlands Regional Women’s Football League at Thimblemill Recreation Centre.
Sarah Essam, who joined the FA Women’s Premier League side during the 2017/18 season and recently extended her contract with the Potters, opened the score after 13 minutes sending a blast that gave her side the lead.
Jordann Sloan managed to double the score in the 29th minute through a curled shot to give Stoke more control before halftime.
Three minutes into the second half, Essam’s teammate assured Jess Richardson assured Stoke’s domination scoring the third goal after firing a shot in the top corner of the net, but Sandwell tried to return to the game and managed to score their first goal in the 64th minute.
However, Molly Bruton ended all hopes for Sandwell one minute before the end of the game as she scored her side’s fourth goal.
