Al Ahly captain Hossam Ashour: We know everything about ES Setif
Al Ahly captain and midfielder Hossam Ashour spoke ahead of his team’s crucial clash with Algerian side ES Setif in the CAF Champions League semi-finals saying that his side is eager to reach the final match and win the title.
The Red Devils managed to reach the CAF Champions League semi-finals after defeating Guinean side Horoya AC 4-0 on aggregate and will host ES Sétif on October 2, before travelling to face them on October 23 in Algeria.
“All the players are ready for the game and we are all determined to win the title this year,” Hossam Ashour told reporters in a press conference. “Qualifying to the Club World Cup is our fans’ biggest dream, and the players want to make fans happy by making their dream come true.”
Al Ahly staff were recently informed that CAF handed goalkeeper Sherif Ekramy a two-game suspension and will have to depend on Mohamed El-Shennawy and Aly Lotfi for their next two games in the Champions League.
“After watching a number of their games, we now know everything about ES Setif, their strengths and their weaknesses,” he added. “We hope luck will be on our side tomorrow and that we come out with a good result.”
