UNAF to prepare three-way file to host 2030 World Cup in Africa
The Union Nord-Africaine De Football committee have come to crucial decisions on their meeting that was held regarding the future of football in North Africa.
The UNAF committee meeting was attended by heads and representatives from five nations (Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco & Tunisia) to discuss and finalize several agreements. Some of their decisions were previously announced regarding player and referee participation across the five countries.
After Morocco were beaten in their bid to host the 2026 World Cup by USA, the UNAF have decided to submit a joint-file for the following edition.
As announced, the decisions made during the meeting were as follows:
1- Primary approval for free player transfers among the involved nations with final confirmation to be made late November 2018 after confirming it from a legal and technical point of view.
2- Primary approval for the exchange of referees between different North African nations, to be confirmed late November 2018.
3- The UNAF to sumbit a three-way joint file to host the 2030 World Cup.
