Napoli coach Ancelotti speaks about Salah ahead of Liverpool clash
Mohamed Salah and his teammates flew to Italy as they prepare to meet Napoli in the second fixture in Group C in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, October 3.
“Mohamed Salah? I don’t know if he’s at 70 or 80 percent, but that doesn’t change that he’s a top quality footballer and he’ll be very dangerous,” Ancelotti told the media in his pre-match press conference.
Liverpool met Napoli earlier in a pre-season friendly and thrashed the Serie A side 5-0 with Salah scoring one goal.
Ancelotti recalled this match saying that it was an experience that taught his team a lot of things and that they won’t be using the same strategy when they meet Liverpool again.
“It was a friendly, and we didn’t want to focus too much on the opponent and neglect what we were trying to do,” he explained.
“As for Jurgen Klopp, he’s an opponent and a difficult adversary. His teams have a clear identity: very dynamic, aggressive and direct when they attack,” Ancelotti added.
The Reds are currently on top of their group with three points after beating Paris Saint-Germain followed by Red Star Belgrade and Napoli in second and third place respectively after a goalless draw in the first fixture that earned both teams one point.
