Al Masry draw with Vita Club in CAF Confederation Cup semi-final

Egyptian side Al Masry drew 0-0 at home with Congolese side in semi-final.

The game started very slow with no clear chances from both sides, until the 39th minute when Congolese striker Jean-Marc Makusu missed a close range overhead-kick nearly opened the scoring for Vita Club.

In the 41st minute Ahmed Shokry took a shot from outside the box but was just off target. Five minutes later Amr Moussa’s shot was brilliantly saved by the Vita Club goalkeeper.

Even though the Port Said side had more possession during the second-half, Vita Club had more clear opportunities as they missed two easy opportunities inside the penalty area.

In the 90th minute Mahmoud Lady nearly scored the decisive goal for the home side but his header just went wide.

Al Masry will face Arab Contractors in their next game in the Egyptian Premier League on October 7. They will then face Vita Club in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup on October 24.
