Egypt FA back Hazem Emam in latest scuffle against Mortada Mansour
Hazem Emam, who is on the board of the Egyptian Olympic Committee as well, earlier signed off along with the rest of the board a decision to ban Mortada Mansour as well as stripping the club from all home matches in various sports for a year.
Following that decision, Mortada Mansour lashed out at the Zamalek legend, confirming that the player will be banned from entering the club as well as his club membership canceled for life.
The EFA statement read:
“The Egyptian Football Association and its board confirm their backing of Hazem Emam, who is one of the biggest stars in history of Egyptian football. The EFA asks the footballing family to use logic, the mind and the truth to support our solitude regarding football and the winnings that we have achieved by the EFA’s effort and all the clubs involve.
“The Egyptian FA hopes that the last incident was just a slight bump and everything goes back on track to have a brotherly relationship that have made this field what it is for the benefit of everyone involved.”
It is worth noting that the past week has been difficult on 66-year-old Zamalek president Mortada Mansour, having received one-year bans from CAF and the Egyptian Olympic Committee as well as a nationwide media ban.
