Egypt FA: Zamalek risk FIFA transfer ban, points deduction
FIFA had previously threatened to deduct six points from Zamalek in the league last month for late dues to former players Ricardo and Agogo .
They are now threatening to do the same again but this time, it’s because of late dues to current player Mohamed Ibrahim’s former Portuguese club CS Marítimo.
“FIFA sent us a letter where they mention that six points will be deducted from Zamalek in the league and they will be banned for two transfer windows if they don’t pay the Portuguese club [CS Marítimo] that Mohamed Ibrahim played for,” Abdel-Ghany told LTC channel.
“Zamalek sent club board member Hany Zada to Switzerland more than once to try and solve this issue. If he replies to us [EFA], saying he found a solution then Zamalek will not face any punishment.
“If Zamalek tell us that they paid their late dues, then they will avoid punishment and we will immediately inform FIFA about it so there will be no problems.
“Zamalek have many problems and unsolved cases with FIFA because of former players and their late dues. They are bound to face more punishment in the future.
“Their president has a lot of of surplus funds in Zamalek’s treasury. I hope they pay all of their late dues to avoid further punishment,” Abdel-Ghany concluded.
