El-Gouna’s Mahmoud Shabrawy suffers ACL rupture

club has announced that team starlet has suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament tear in his left knee.

Shabrawy was forced off during his side’s game against Ittihad of Alexandria, the encounter which resulted in El-Gouna’s 2-1 defeat against the Alexandria-based club.

El-Gouna confirmed on Wednesday that the player was diagnosed with an ACL rupture and will spend around six months on the sidelines between recovery from injury and rehabilitation.

The 21-year-old winger had joined El-Gouna in the preceding summer coming from Al Qanah. He featured for the newly promoted side in eight games scoring two goals.

El-Gouna are arguably achieving good results in the current first part of the season. They have collected 12 points after eight rounds from three wins, three draws and two defeats and currently sit in the sixth place in the Egyptian Premier League table, two places away from the African spots.
