Mortada Mansour reveals Zamalek will respond to potential ban

Zamalek chairman Mortada Mansour

has confirmed that Zamalek will respond to the supposed ban that they will receive according to Magdy Abdel-Ghany.

Mansour’s words follow the threat issued by the EFA that Zamalek may receive a FIFA transfer ban and a points deduction for late payments to Portuguese club Maritimo for Mohamed Ibrahim.

Mansour responded by saying “All these amounts were in the era of Mamdouh Abbas, who sank the club in debt. We have dues in the Union of the ball and demanded to pay, for all these fines, and resolve the crisis and the closure of this file permanently, and there is no deduction to the points of the team as recently reported.”

The Zamalek website added “I made a telephone call with Hani Abu Rida, President of the Egyptian Football Federation to end the crisis and resolve it quickly.”

Mortada Mansour has said this in spite of his recently issued nationwide media ban following his comments on Pyramids TV. He also has issues currently relating to his ban from CAF for a year.

In the meantime, Zamalek will focus on their next game which is scheduled to be against Wadi Degla on November 1st.
