OFFICIAL: African Handball Federation ban Mortada Mansour for one year
The African Handball Federation announced in an official that they banned Zamalek president Mortada Mansour from all handball activities for one year.
The ban came after Mansour attacked the president of the International Handball Federation Hassan Mostafa.
By doing so Mansour infringed all the rules implemented by the International Handball Federation, therefore he has been banned from all handball related activities.
The African Handball Federation had also previously announced that they wanted the Egyptian Handball Federation to boycott the Zamalek president.
The statement came as follow:
“On Thursday, 4/10/2018, the Egyptian Olympic Committee received the decision of the African Handball Federation No. 18/477 of 4 October 2018, which decided the following:
Article (1): Mr. Mortada Mansour, President of Zamalek Sports Club, is suspended for one year from all handball activities. Because of his statements in the media that violate article (5) of the Ethics Charter of the International Handball Federation.
Article (2): This decision shall be implemented from the date of its signature, and shall be published as widely as possible.”
Mansour suffered a series of bans during the past couple of weeks including being banned from all football-related activities by the CAF for insulting CAF President Ahmad Ahmad and General Secretary Amr Fahmy, violating articles 131 and 132.
He also received a nationwide media ban by the Supreme Council for Media Regulation in Egypt.
