Al Ahly suffered first league loss as Ittihad of Alexandria defeated the Reds 43 in the Egyptian Premier League.

Ittihad took a surprise lead in the 19th minute, when Al Ahly’s defender Ayman Ashraf scored in his own net.

10 minutes later, Marwan Mohsen levelled things up for Al Ahly, as he got at the end of a loose ball and headed it into the back of the net.

Five minutes before the halftime whistle, Razak Cisse dribbled past Al Ahly’s backline and squared the ball to Khaled Kamar, whose shot nestled into Aly Lotfy’s net.

In the 54th minute, Didier Kore extended the lead for the Alexandria based side, when he finished the ball home from the spot, making it 3-1.

The Reds Devils reduced the deficit in the 61st minute, when Islam Mohareb found Walid Soliman inside the box. The number 11 winger headed the ball brilliantly past ittihad’s goalkeeper.

Two minutes before the fulltime whistle, Ahmed Al Alfy restored Ittihad’s two goal lead, when he drilled Cisse’s accurate through pass into the back of Lotfy’s net.

Mohamed Sherif pulled scored the third for Al Ahly in the dying moments of the game, when his right footed shot went past Ittihad’s goalkeeper from inside the box.

Following the game, Al Ahly occupy the ninth league spot with 11 points and are set to face Dakhleya on the 15th of October.

Meanwhile, Ittihad sit sixth with 14 points ahead of their home clash against Petrojet on the 20th of October.

Mohammed Salama is a 21-year-old who fell in love with football since Egypt's AFCON final match against Ivory Coast! Strangely enough an Al Ahly and Al Masry fan locally. In addition, he's a hardcore Bayern Munich supporter.
