Hungarian handball club  announced that Egypt head coach will be leading the club alongside his post with the Pharaohs.

The Egyptian Handball Federation appointed Spanish manager  as the national team new head coach in May 2018 replacing Marwan Ragab.

Davis will now be leading the Egyptian handball team as they prepare for the upcoming World Cup, which will be held in Denmark and Germany in January 2019 and at the same time coaching Telekom Veszprem for one year with an option to extend for another year.

The former Spanish handball player and current coach will be assisted by the club’s legend, Carlos Perez along with sports director István Gulyás.

Davis started his managerial career as an assistant coach of Macedonian side RK Vardar, before taking charge of the club’s women’s team. He also had a stint as the Russian national team assistant coach.

Egyptian Handball Federation issued a statement assuring that Davis will continue leading Egypt normally and until the 2021 World Championship which will be held in Egypt.

“An appendix was added to the coach’s contract during the signing that enables him to manage another team if he receives a contract from a club that will play in the EHF Champions League while amending his contractual value,” the statement clarified.

The federation pointed out that Davis will be evaluated after the 2019 World Cup which was something that was announced when the coach was appointed.
