Javier Aguirre: Salah will play against Swaziland
Egypt national team manager Javier Aguirre confirmed that Salah will play against Swaziland in the AFCON 2019 qualifiers.
Aguirre confirmed that Salah will play during the Swaziland pre-match press conference.
“Mohamed Salah is ready to play against Swaziland,” Aguirre said during the pre-match conference.
“Salah is fit and is not suffering from anything, and will can play. He’s a really important player for the national team.
“Salah was brilliant against Niger, he scored two goals and assisted the same amount. He’s a really important player for the national team,” he added.
He then talked about the possibility that North African players would be considered as locals in starting January.
“I welcome the idea of North African players being considered as locals, they will benefit Egyptian football so we should welcome them.
“Egyptian players will have to prove that they are up to the task and that they’re the best.
“I will not talk about players who aren’t currently in our camp. I won’t tell why I didn’t chose certain players.
“Our goal is to win in both the home and away games to finish on top of the group, everything is still possible.”
Egypt is currently second in the group with three points three behind Tunisia. They will face Swaziland on Friday October 12 in the third group stage game before playing the away game on October 16.
