Zamalek squad for Egypt Cup tie announced

Zamalek coach Christian Gross has declared his first team’s squad for their round of 32 encounter in against on Thursday.

Zamalek had recently clinched the Egyptian-Saudi Super Cup in Riyadh after defeating Saudi giants Al Hilal 2-1 in a heated encounter, and they hope to build on that victory on the domestic front and advance further to support their aim in the search for winning titles this season.

The White Castle’s squad saw the absence of Tunisia international Ferjani Sassi, with the reason cited as fatigue. The list of absentees also included Tarek Hamed, Mahmoud Gennesh and Mahmoud Hamdy ‘El-Wensh’ who have joined Egypt’s training camp.

The winner between Zamalek and Minyat Samanoud will set a match-up against the winner from Entag El-Harby and Ittihad Al Shorta encounter.
