UAFA name referees for round of 16 games for Zayed Cup
The Union of Arab Football Associations ‘UAFA’ announced the names of referees who will officiate the Egyptian club’s clashes in the round of 16 of Zayed Club Champions Cup.
Al Ahly, Zamalek, Ismaily, and Ittihad of Alexandria have qualified for the round of 16 after beating Al-Nejmeh of Lebanon, Kuwaiti sides Al-Qadsia and Al-Kuwait, and title holders Esperance respectively.
One Egyptian team will be eliminated from the next round as Zamalek were drawn against Ittihad of Alexandria, with Al Ahly and Ismaily facing each of Emirati side Al Wasl and Raja Casablanca.
Al Ahly will host Emirati side Al Wasl on Sunday, October 28 at El-Salam Stadium for the first leg. UAFA named Jordanian referee Adham Mekhadma to officiate the game assisted by referees Ahmed El-Rowily and Mohamed Khaled as linemen.
Ismaily are set to host Moroccan side Raja Casablanca in Ismailia on Monday, October 29, before travelling to face them in Morocco on December 11. Kuwaiti referee Ali Mahmoud will lead the game along with two Bahraini linemen.
As for the first-leg of the all-Egyptian encounter between Zamalek and Ismaily, UAFA assigned Tunisian referee Youssef El-Sarairi who will be assisted by Anwar Hamila and Yamen El-Maloshi
