Elmohamady: We hope to secure AFCON qualification against eSwatini

captain Ahmed Elmohamdy has discussed the relationship between the players and their second fixture against in their , as well as the captaincy issue.

“The relationship between us is very good on and off the pitch, all the experienced players are helping the new players. I learned how to help the new players from the older generation in the past year. Hopefully, all the players will get their chance with the national team.” Elmohamady told ON Sport TV.

“Javier Aguirre chose me as the captain. Salah, Elneny, and Hegazy didn’t have any problems with the captaincy issue. If he chooses another captain I wouldn’t have any problems. The coaching staff is helping us as much as possible and they are doing a great job.” continued the national team captain.

“Next match is very important we hope we can clinch all three points to confirm our qualification to the Africa Cup Of Nations, we are aiming to top our group as the coach said before. We will start thinking about Tunisia and Niger after eSwatini’s match,” he added.

“I’m aiming for World Cup 2022, Essam El-Hadary is a phenomenon, he played in the World Cup aged 45. If I keep putting on good performances with my club and country I can be part of the World Cup squad,” said the Egyptian right back about his chances to play with Egypt in World Cup 2022.

“The match against eSwatini will be very hard, we analyzed their match against Tunisia and they are very good on their ground. We need to clinch the three points to secure our qualification and this is our goal entering this match,” concluded Elmohamady his interview.

Egypt will be playing away from home against eSwatini today 15:00 CLT in which they will be hoping to clinch the three points to secure their qualifications to AFCON 2019.
