Hussein El-Shahat ‘happy’ with performance against eSwatini
Egypt international Hussein El-Shahat has revealed his delight with his performance during the Pharaohs 2-0 victory over eSwatini on Tuesday.
Egypt have beaten eSwatini 2-0 in their fourth game of the AFCON 2019 qualifiers and have officially qualified for the tournament that will take place on June 2019 in Cameroon.
El-Shahat played the first 45 minutes before being subbed-off for Olympiacos striker Ahmed Hassan Kouka.
The 27-year-old started as a substitute for Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah who got injured in the first leg on October 12.
“Winning was our main goal in this game, especially with the pitch’s bad condition and the fact that we were playing away,” El-Shahat told Onsport TV channel.
“Aguirre told me to link between the attack and defense and I was able to do what he asked from me.
“I’m happy with my performance during the 45 minutes I played and the most important thing is that Aguirre told me he’s happy with my performance,” he concluded.
Egypt are set to face Niger and Tunisia in their upcoming games, and even though they secured qualification for the 2019 AFCON they’ll be looking to top their group.
