Egypt achieve futsal’s bronze medal in Youth Olympics

have managed to achieve a remarkable result in football after defeating 5-4 in the 3rd place match to earn the bronze medal in the in Buenos Aires.

Egypt had reached the semifinal of the tournament after leading their group over Argentina, Iraq, Panama and Slovakia with three wins and a single draw, before sustaining their first defeat against Russia in the semis.

The young Pharaohs managed to pull off an impressive comeback against the Olympics hosts as they were down by 0-2 within the first five minutes of the match. Argentina have also supported their advantage with a third goal by the 10th minute which made the result seem to heading their way.

Egypt’s Mohamed Talaat pulled a goal back in the 17th minute to leave a glimpse of hope for Hesham Saleh’s men to get back in the game, the first half ended 3-1 in the favour of Argentina.

Egypt turned the table in the second half after they scored two goals in two successive minutes, the first through Salman Mohamed in the 21st minute and the equaliser in the 22nd minute through Man of the Match Mohamed Talaat, who also took the lead for Egypt in the 32nd minute scoring the fourth game before securing the result with a fifth goal before the end with 40 seconds.

Argentina managed to reduce the deficit with a fourth goal nine seconds before the final whistle.

    It’s called futsal, not futsal football. lol
    Anyways, congrats to the team. They’ve beaten a traditional powerhouse of the sport.
