Gary Neville: Manchester United forwards can learn from Salah and Mane
Speaking after Manchester United’s thrilling 2-2 draw with Chelsea, Neville called for improved performances from Manchester United’s forwards.
“They need more from the front three, there’s so much talent there,” Neville told Sky Sports.
Manchester United have struggled in the new campaign so far, managing only 14 points from nine matches. Much of the blame has been placed on the play of United’s forwards, with the team only scoring 15 goals.
Liverpool meanwhile, who are currently tied in first place, are receiving plaudits for their attacking play, and Neville suggests that United should take notes.
Mane and Salah have each scored 4 goals this season, despite both players starting off the season on poor form.
“I’m not saying they have to play narrow but wherever you start, you’ve got to end up in goalscoring positions more often and you’ve got to show that little bit of quality and composure in the final third,” Neville concluded.
Liverpool next play Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League on Wednesday.
