Egypt move up six places in the latest FIFA World Rankings

’s national team have gone up six places in the latest FIFA Men’s Rankings for the month of October after three successive wins.

The Pharaohs have moved from 64th place to 58th in the latest rankings after impressing in the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches.

The national team got off to a flying start under new manager Javier Aguirre. His first game in charge ended with a 6-0 win against Niger in September.

Egypt also beat Swaziland twice this month in the qualifying matches. They thrashed Swaziland 4-1 on home soil before getting a 2-0 away win to secure 2019 AFCON qualification.

The 2017 AFCON finalists are still third worldwide between all Arab countries for the third successive month as Morocco and Tunisia get 47th and 22nd place respectively.

The Pharaohs will continue with their 2019 AFCON qualifying matches next month as they host Tunisia on November 16th.
