Ibrahim Hassan: The AS Vita game referee wanted a bribe

's director of football Ibrahim Hassan has revealed that the referee for the game against asked for a bribe.

Al Masry crashed out of the after a 4-0 defeat to Congolese side AS Vita in the second leg of the semi-final on Wednesday evening.

Speaking to ON Sport's radio broadcast, Ibrahim Hassan revealed that referee Bernard Camille wanted a bribe from Al Masry, saying: “He [Bernard Camille] asked us for a bribe and we managed to record it.

“We reached out to to try and submit these recordings as evidence for them to start investigating on the matter.

“This whole situation started after the technical meeting when the referee asked the team's manager for his phone number.

“He contacted him using Whatsapp and we have screenshots of text messages to prove our case,” he concluded.

Al Masry's series of unfortunate events did not end there as head coach Hossam Hassan suffered a head after the AS Vita game.

It appeared that a AS Vita supporter threw a rock aimed at Hossam Hassan's head. He was then immediately transferred to the nearest hospital for quick treatment.
