Liverpool defender has piled on the praise for following his brace against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League.

Salah’s goalscoring troubles earlier this season seem like a distant memory as he has now bagged three goals in his last two games, including two in the Champions League game against Red Star Belgrade last night. As a result, the Egyptian has received his due credit from Liverpool’s defensive prospect Joe Gomez.

The 21 year old said “That’s unbelievable. 50 goals, I’m trying to get my first one! It’s special, Mo’s a special player.”

“It just showed that he carries on, he’s relentless with his pursuit for goals and that’s what makes him a top player and hopefully he continues.”.

Salah scored Liverpool’s second and third goals against Red Star, one of which came from the penalty spot, to follow on from his match winner against Huddersfield the prior weekend.

Salah will hope to strike while the iron’s hot in Liverpool’s next game which is on Saturday against Cardiff at Anfield at 4PM Egyptian time.
