Martin Keown believe Salah wants to remain humble

Former Arsenal defender has given his verdict on why Salah did not celebrate his goals against Red Star Belgrade, insisting that the Egyptian wants to stay humble.

While Salah seems to have finally shaken off his underwhelming form from the start of this season, it appeared unusual to many that he had a very lowkey celebration. However, Martin Keown believes he has the answer as to why he did not celebrate.

Keown said “Salah looks like he is trying to remain humble when he scores. The way he celebrates suggests he realises how lucky he is to be doing what he is doing. While he seems to be returning to his best, there were a couple of moments against Red Star when he fluffed his lines when through on goal.”

He continued, “There was one chance when he demonstrated his sublime touch only to miss and another when he did not see the linesman’s offside flag but should have scored from that position. We are not seeing the same certainty in front of goal but that is the most frightening thing.”

Keown closed out by saying “Liverpool are still getting excellent results and Salah has not yet reached his purple patch,” implying that the best is still yet to come for Salah.

The Egyptian will hope to continue his form in Liverpool’s next game this weekend against Cardiff on Saturday at Anfield at 4PM Egyptian time.
