Salah ‘happy’ to reach 50 goals milestone with Liverpool
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has expressed his pride of reaching the 50th goal landmark with Liverpool after his brace against Crvena Zvezda in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
Liverpool walked past the Serbian team, Crvena Zvezda, with a comfortable home 4-0 victory with Salah contributing with a right-footed strike and a penalty goal.
The Egypt hitman said that he is proud of his achievement to reach 50th goal with Liverpool at the beginning of his second season with the club, laughing off criticism regarding his goal drought.
“[Scoring 50 goals for Liverpool] is great. I’m happy to score my 50th goal for Liverpool,” Salah told BT Sport.
“I’m very proud about that. I want to keep scoring and help the team to win games.”
Salah was asked by the reporter if he remembers the people who were speaking about his goal drought, the former Roma winger responded jokingly, “Who?! Who?!”.
“We knew [Salah, Firmino and Mane] how to play with each other. The way we play is always different and the type of system we play is always different.”
“In the beginning [against Crvena Zvezda] it was tough. But we know how to play with each other. We know our quality. We are happy with each other.”
