Salah nominated for Champions League Player of the Week award
Mohamed Salah has been nominated for the UEFA Champions League Player of the Week award after his impressive performance against Crvena Zvezda.
The Egypt international scored a brace as Liverpool earned a 4-0 victory over the Serbian side which puts them in the first spot in their UEFA Champions League group.
Just before the half time whistle, Salah scored a great right footed strike after a smart assist from Shaqiri. This was Salah’s second right footed goal in two consecutive matches, after his winner against Huddersfield on the weekend.
In the second half, Salah converted a penalty to make it 3-0 as Mane was brought down in the penalty area by Stojkovic. Liverpool took full control of the game as they cruised to victory in Anfield.
The 26-year-old’s impressive performance saw him nominated for the award alongside AS Roma striker Eden Dzeko, Man City midfielder David Silva, and Borussia Dortmund full-back Achraf Hakimi.
The former AS Roma winger has now scored 50 goals with Liverpool in just 65 games, becoming the fastest player to reach this milestone in Liverpool’s history.
