Hussein El-Shahat: Al Ain winning more important than my own goals
El-Shahat scored as Al Ain beat Ajman 3-0 in the Emirati League. He started off his side’s bench but was brought on at half-time in the place of Rayan Yaslam.
El-Shahat faced a wave of criticism in the start of the season after suffering a dip in form. He scored two goals and assisted four in four league games so far this season.
“I thank God for the victory, which is more important than my goal and more important than Hussein El-Shahat. The most important thing and what matters is that Al Ain remains on the top,” El-Shahat told AD Sports TV.
“I would like to also thank Al Ain fans who endured me in the previous period, and I pledge to improve in the coming period.”
“We didn’t start the game well and managed to score three goals in the final 10 minutes. What differentiates big teams from others is that they remain compact on the field and try until the end to win and that’s what we did.”
