Olympiacos win 1-0 against Apollon late on

Koka did not join in Athens as Olympiacos defeated Apollon 1-0 with a 90th minute winner by Dimitrios Manos proving to be the difference.

Olympiacos XI: Sa, Elabdellaoui, Cisse, Vukovic, Koutris, Bouchalakis, Camara, Nahuel, Fortounis, Podence, Christodoulopoulos.

Apollon XI: Huanderson, Stathis, Lukic, Kyrgias, Orihuela, Gino, Shikabala, D’Urso, Kone, Triadis, Acosta.

As Olympiacos are the historic giant of Greek football alongside Panathinaikos, Apollon knew that their work was cut out to get a result in their fortress of a home stadium. However, Olympiacos have been a shadow of their former selves this season so picking up points was not out of the question.

Apollon did all the right things defensively from the beginning as they made it incredibly difficult for Olympiacos to create chances. On the other hand, with just one goal this season it has been the Apollon attack that has put them in such a lowly position.

Apollon were close to their first points of the season, but Olympiacos made them pay for their attacking shortcomings in the last minute when Manos broke the deadlock to win it for the Athens club.

The result puts Olympiacos up to 4th in the table, four points below leaders Atromitos. Apollon remain bottom and are still without a point.
