Elneny has been struggling for game time under Unai Emery, with the Egyptian playing only four games (322 minutes) since the start of the new season.
He had a chance to get some more minutes under his belt when Arsenal host League One side Blackpool in the round of 16 of the Carabao Cup, but he has been ruled out with a thigh injury.
The injury will also force him to miss games against Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool next Saturday, Sporting Lisbon, and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Arsenal will face Blackpool on Wednesday, October 31, before hosting Liverpool on Saturday, November 3.
