Al Ahly announce squad for CAF final against ES Tunis

manager has announced the 22-man squad list for the CAF Champions League final first leg against ES Tunis on the 2nd of November.

Al Ahly reached the champions league final for a record 12th time in history after surviving somewhat of a late scare in a game that saw the Reds overcome a close ES Setif comeback as they won 3-2 on aggregate and booked a spot in the final of the tournament to meet up with Tunisian side Espérance Sportive de Tunis.

The first leg of the final is set to take place on Egyptian grounds at Borg El-Arab Stadium on Friday the 2nd of November, whilst the second leg is scheduled the following Friday of the 11th of November.

Mohamed El-Shennawy makes his way in the list after he was substituted for injury in the match against Al Wasl a few days ago. No notable absentees apart from Ali Maaloul while Salah Mohsen is back regularly for the Red Devils.

Squad list:

Goalkeepers: Sherif Ekramy, Mohamed El-Shennawy, Ali Lotfi

Defenders: Ahmed Fathi, Mohamed Hany, Salif Coulibaly, Saad Samir, Ayman Ashraf

Midfielders: Sabry Rahil, Hossam Ashour, Amr El-Sulaya, Hesham Mohamed, Akram Tawfik, Karim Nedved, Islam Mohareb, Ahmed Hamoudi, Walid Soliman, Mido Gaber, Ahmed Hamdi

Forwards: Salah Mohsen, Marwan Mohsen, Walid Azaro

This is the second time on a row for Al Ahly to reach the CAF Champions League final, they lost the title in last final to Wydad Athletic Club with a score of 2-1 on aggregate.
