OFFICIAL: Al Masry appoint Mimi Abdel-Razik as new manager
Former Smouha boss Mimi Abdel-Razik has been confirmed as the new manager of Al Masry, the Port-Said based club have announced on Tuesday.
Abdel-Razik has taken the role just a day after Hossam Hassan left his post as Al Masry manager to take charge of Pyramids FC.
Al Masry confirmed in a statement on their website that they have accepted the Hassan twin’s resignation, with Mimi Abdel-Razik taking charge of the team with immediate effect.
Hassan decided to leave Al Masry after his side crashed out of the CAF Confederations Cup semi-final game following a heavy loss to DR Congo’s AS Vita Club.
He will be replaced by Mimi Abdel-Razik, whose most recent job came last season with Smouha, when he guided them to the Egypt Cup final, before losing on penalties to Zamalek.
Abdel-Razik led Smouha in 15 games last season, helping them finish fifth in the Egyptian Premier League as well as reaching the Egypt Cup final.
He takes over Al Masry, with the side currently sit 14th in the league with 10 points from seven games, however, they still have four games in hand.
Abdel-Razik will work with the new director of football Mostafa Younes and Ismaily legend Mohamed Abougrisha, who has been appointed as the new general manager.
