Mido: Al Ahly were better than Esperance despite referee decisions

gave his thoughts on Al Ahly’s 3-1 victory over Tunisia’s Esperance in the first-leg of the final.

“Egyptian clubs and national teams suffered before in Africa because of unjust referees,” Mido said on his Twitter account on Saturday. “I think that despite poor performances from the referees yesterday, Al Ahly were better than , dominated the game and earned their victory.

“There were two teams playing, only won aimed to win and that was Al Ahly,” he added.

The return-leg will take part on Friday, November 9 at Stade Olympique de Radès in Tunisia, with Al Ahly needing at least a draw or a 1-0 loss to clinch the title.
