VIDEO: Kouka scores winner in Olympiacos victory over Aris Thessaloniki
Egypt international Ahmed Hassan Kouka netted the winner for Olympiacos as they beat Aris Thessaloniki 1-0 in the ninth fixture of the Greek Super League.
Kouka has now bagged a total of two goals in nine games across all competitions since joining the Athens based club last summer on loan from Sporting Braga.
The game kicked-off with a slow pace as the first-half witnessed a few chances on target from both sides and the two teams looked like they will share points.
However, on the 67th minute, Kouka received a brilliant one-touch cross from Leonardo Koutris inside the penalty area, and the Egyptian calmly reacted and tapped the ball in to break the deadlock.
Olympiacos boss then wanted to maintain the scoreline and in order to do so, he brought on Mohamed Camara and Vasilis Torosidis, and the duo didn’t disappoint as Kouka’s side secured a much-needed victory.
Following the win, Olympiacos now jump to third place, surpassing AEK Athens. They currently have 19 points, four behind Amr Warda’s PAOK.
Kouka’s side are set to face Luxembourgish side F91 Dudelange on Thursday, before hosting arch-rivals Panathinaikos on November 11.
