Pharaohs Abroad Roundup: How have Egyptians abroad fared this week?

KingFut rounds up the action this week to keep you up to date with Egyptian players overseas.

Mahmoud Trezeguet – Kasimpasa (Turkey)

November 3 – Turkish Super League – Trezeguet featured for Kasimpasa in their 1-2 defeat to Antalyaspor in the 11th fixture of the Turkish Super Lig. Veysel Sari netted the only goal for Trezeguet’s side, however, the Antalya based side managed to turn things around and earn the three points. Following the defeat, Kasimpasa now stand fourth on table as Antalyaspor goes above with one point difference. Their next game will be away against Bursaspor on the 11th of November.

Ahmed Elmohamdy– Aston Villa (England)

November 2 – Championship – Aston Villa won 2-0 against Bolton as Elmohamady was benched the whole game. Villa opened the scoring in the 4th minute through Grealish, before James Chester secured the win with a second-half header. Elmohamady’s side currently sit in the 13th spot in the league, after a slow start to the league campaign.

Amr Warda– PAOK FC (Greece)

November 3 –  Greek Super League – Warda came off the bench as PAOK drew 1-1 in a top of the table clash with Atromitos. After Crespo opened the scoring in the first-half, PAOK appeared to be headed for a crucial three points until Ugrai got the equaliser to salvage a point for Atromitos. The result keeps PAOK at the top by two points, with their next game against Videoton in the Europa League on Thursday 8th of November.

Karim Hafez – Istanbul Basaksehir (Turkey)

November 3 – Turkish Super League – Karim Hafez wasn’t named in the squad as Istanbul Basaksehir grabbed a 1-0 victory over Besiktas in matchweek 11 of the Turkish Super Lig. Hafez’s side currently sit top the table with 24 points ahead of Galatasaray. Their next meet up will be with Rizespor in the league on 10th of November.

Ahmed Hegazi – West Brom (England)

November 3 – Championship – Hegazi started for West Bromwich Albion as they fell to a surprising 1-0 defeat at Hull. The Egyptian returned to the West Brom lineup however he was unable to stop Fraizer Campbell from scoring a first half goal which proved to be the winner. The Baggies are now seventh in the table and five points off of the leaders, as they host high flying Leeds next Saturday.

Amr Marei – Étoile du Sahel (Tunisia)

November 3 – Tunisian Ligue 1 – Étoile du Sahel played out a dull 0-0 draw against US Tataouine in the sixth fixture of the Tunisian Ligue 1. Following the result, Marei’s side currently sit third with 12 points from six games, seven behind leaders CS Sfaxien.

Abdallah El-Said – Al Ahli (Saudi Arabia)

November 3 – Saudi Pro League – Abdallah El-Said started and played 74 minutes as Al Ahli Jeddah ended Al Nasr’s unbeaten run with a 2-0 away victory. Omar Al-Soma scored the opening goal, one minute after coming on for Abdallah El-Said, before Jorge Tavares secured the three points with a late penalty. Al Ahli currently sit second in the league table, two points behind leaders Al Hilal.

Bassem Morsi – AE Larissa (Greece)

November 3 –  Greek Super League – Zamalek loanee Bassem Morsi was excluded from the squad as AE Larissa fell to a 1-1 draw against Levadiakos. Larissa’s Alexandre Coeff broke the deadlock after 13 minutes, but a late own goal from Nikos Golias ensured that the spoils are shared. AE Larissa’s side currently sit 11th in the league table and their next game will be against Giannina on Saturday, November 10.

Sam Morsy – Wigan (England)

November 4 – Championship – Wigan Athletic let an early lead slip as they fell to defeat against a high flying Leeds side. Sam Morsy started in midfield for Wigan, but spent a lot of the day chasing the ball as Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa used his famous possession-based style. Reece James’ early free-kick gave Wigan hope but Pablo Hernandez’s quick equaliser was followed by Kemar Roofe’s second-half winner. Wigan have another tough test next week away at Middlesbrough, with Morsy’s side now 16th in the table.

Hussein El-Sayed – Al Ettifaq (Saudi Arabia)

November 6 – Saudi Pro League – Hussein El-Sayed played the full 90 minutes in Al Ettifaq’s heavy 4-1 defeat against Al Hilal in the eighth fixture of the Saudi Pro League. Following the loss, Al Ettifaq occupy the sixth league spot with 14 points ahead of their clash against Al Nassr next week.

    Kingfut Team you can add to this article, that Ahmed Hassan Koka scored the winning goal for his team today! And hopefully he will be successful in the upcoming games as well, after ending his century-long goal drought. 😀

    And another question…Do you have any information about Ahmed Mostafa who joined Gent in Belgium this summer? I am observing the match line-ups of the team but he does not play at all…
