Walid Azarou included in Morocco’s squad to face Cameroon
Morocco head coach Herve Renard included Al Ahly forward Walid Azarou in his squad for Cameroon clash in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Walid Azarou shined with Al Ahly last season and continued the impressive performances with the Red Devils. He was a key player in Al Ahly’s CAF Champions League campaign as they are currently one step away from clinching their ninth title.
It is worth mentioning though that Azarou was recently suspended by CAF for two games and will not be able to take part in the Champions League return-leg.
Morocco are currently second in Group B of the AFCON qualifiers with seven points, one point behind Cameroon, the hosts of the next competition. Malawi are also right behind Morocco in third place with four points while Comoros are at the bottom of the group with only two points.
The Lions of Atlas will clash with Cameroon on November 16 in Casablanca before facing Malawi in the final round on March 23. Renard and his men will also face Tunisia on November 20 in a friendly match.
