Gullit: Salah’s Champions League final injury was of his own making
Netherlands legend Ruud Gullit has argued that Mohamed Salah was the main responsible for the injury that he sustained in the 2018 Champions League final when he was challenged by Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.
Salah was forced out of the 2018 Champions League final after less than 30 minutes when he was dragged down before falling on his left shoulder after a duel with Ramos.
Several pundits stated that it was the fault of the Spain defender who had harm intentions, but Gullit believes it’s not like that and that Salah was asking for it.
“It was Mo Salah’s own fault, he was stupid. I think it was stupid what he did,” Gullit told beIN Sports.
” think he tried to muscle [Ramos], gave him all the opportunity to turn him around … ya, I don’t blame Ramos for that no.”
Liverpool lost the Champions League final last term against Real Madrid, the trophy which saw Los Merengues achieve record three consecutive titles in the European competition.
