Al Ahly team bus assaulted by Esperance fans, Hesham Mohamed injured
Al Ahly team bus has been subject to assault by some of the Tunisian fans as the team was heading to Rades stadium to face Esperance du Tunis in the return leg of the CAF Champions League final.
Al Ahly will lineup against Esperance at Rades Stadium being backed by their 3-1 home advantage which they obtained in the first leg game on November 2 in Alexandria.
The first leg has witnessed a lot of controversial calls from match official Mehdi Abid Charef in the game that saw the introduction of Video Assistant Referee for the first time ever in African competitions.
The Red Devils team bus was assaulted by some of Esperance supporters who threw stones at the bus containing the players, which caused the injury of Al Ahly midfielder Hesham Mohamed in the head.
It’s worth noting that Mohamed is missing the second leg encounter due to injury.
