Al Ahly duo El-Sulya, Hany withdraw from Egypt squad

Al Ahly duo Amr El-Sulya and Mohamed Hany have withdrawn from the national team squad that will face Tunisia in the 2019 AFCON qualifiers.

The duo picked up ankle injuries against Esperance de Tunis and therefore will miss the Tunisia game, which is set to take part at Borg El-Arab, Alexandria on Friday, November 16.

The news will be devastating for El-Sulya, who was called-up by the national team for the first time since June 2015, when he played 81 minutes against Malawi in an international friendly.

It has not been announced yet whether Aguirre will name replacements for the Al Ahly duo ahead of the AFCON qualifier.

The Pharaohs have already secured their place in the AFCON tournament in Cameroon following back-to-back victories against eSwatini and a 6-0 victory over Niger.

Their only loss in the qualifiers came away from home against The Eagles of Carthage, who have also qualified for the final tournament with four wins from four.
