Petrojet name Momen Soliman as new head coach
Yehia resigned as Petrojet manager after the team’s dramatic 3-2 defeat against by fellow strugglers Nogoom FC last week.
The club have decided that Momen Soliman will be Yehia’s best replacement, and have announced him as the club’s new manager on Tuesday.
Soliman has a massive experience in Egyptian football, having managed Zamalek, Smouha, and Entag El-Harby, but his last job came in October 2017 with Misr El-Makkasa, where he lasted only five games.
He also led Zamalek to the 2016 CAF Champions League final, before losing to Mamelodi Sundowns, and lifted the Egypt Cup in the same year with the Whites.
The 44-year-old will be joined by director of football Hamada Anwar, assistants Amr Fathi and Ahmed Shabaan, and general manager Hassan Mousa.
Petrojet are currently bottom of the Egyptian Premier League table with 11 points from 13 games, with Soliman’s first game in charge coming against Tala’a El-Gaish.
