Al Ahly delegation visits Real Madrid
A delegation from Egypt giants Al Ahly have paid a visit to the headquarters of European heavyweights Real Madrid among the attempts of the Red Devils to maintain good rapport with clubs around the world.
The history of Al Ahly’s relation with Real Madrid goes back to April 2001, when Los Merengues were invited by the Red Devils to face them in a friendly match as a part of Al Ahly’s celebrations of being named the African Club of the Century back at that time.
Al Ahly delegation contained club board member Khaled Mortagy, former Al Ahly players and current club officials Hossam Ghaly and Mohamed Fadl also partook in the visit which saw them check out Real Madrid facilites including club museum and renowned stadium Santiago Bernabeu. Al Ahly were received by Real Madrid’s director of Institutional Relations Emilio Butragueno, who accompanied them throughout the visit.
Mortagy said that the visit is a part of the club’s policy which is the constant communication with the big clubs around the world, the thing that would allow Al Ahly leap towards the continental and international status it deserves.
Moreover, he also explained that the goal was to benefit from Real Madrid’s experience in several topics, football, stadiums, sports marketing and football fans above all. Mortagy deemed Al Ahly’s visit fruitful, hoping that it won’t be the last.
