defender has confirmed that he is set to remain for an additional year at MLS franchise according to a term in his contract with the club.

signed for Orlando City on a one-year loan with an option-to-buy from Wadi Degla back in February 2018. He had a previous experience in MLS with Columbus Crew SC.

“I will remain with Orlando for another year based on our agreement. I am currently not owned by Wadi Degla,” Tarek told ON Sport.

“I proved myself throughout my loan spell at the club and I aim to remain whether in the US or return to playing in Europe. Javier Aguirre told me to not return to Egypt.”

The 26-year-old central defender has been a regular member in the Egypt squad since the takeover of Mexican manager Javier Aguirre, and he discussed the Pharaohs’ preparations for the AFCON qualifier against Tunisia and the motives they are playing for.

“We have more than one motive to play a solid match as we want to lead the group and also avenge for our defeat against Tunisia in the first game, as well as Al Ahly’s defeat to Esperance.”

“We are currently focused on our upcoming AFCON campaign, afterwards we will prepare strongly for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.”
