Egypt’s Olympic team have battered 4-1 at home with Mostafa Mohamed of Talaa El Geish playing a starring role.

Egypt U23 XI: Radwan, Ramadan, Galal, El Gazzar, Youssef, Tawfik, Maher, Sadek, Sobhi, Mansi, Mohamed.

Tunisia U23 XI: Karoui, Hnid, Khemiri, Sellami, Raddaoui, Baayou, Meskini, Oueslati, Fadaa.

Shawky Gharib led Egypt into the game as part of the preparations for the young Pharaohs hosting the where they will be expected to make a big impression. Chokri Khatoui’s Tunisia were in a more precarious position as they will need to overcome a playoff in order to qualify.

The game burst into life early on with both sides scoring in the first part of the first half, Idriss El-Mezouni opened the scoring for Tunisia in the 17th minute, before Mostafa Mohamed’s brace gave Egypt the lead.

The Pharaohs waited until the 90th minute to pull away as goals from Karim El-Eraki and Nasser Mansi made it 4-1 in the dying minutes.

Egypt have now played their last U23 game of the calendar year and will focus their attention on the U23 AFCON which comes around this time next year.
