Taekwondo’s Olympic bronze medalist won gold in the 67 kg women’s category at the French Open 2018 in Paris.

The 25-year-old claimed gold after her opponent withdrew from the final match, but the Egyptian athlete fought hard all the way to the final match.

In the round of 32, Malak was able to beat Monaco’s Marin Pontonier 24-0 before defeating Belgium’s Omneya Dakon 1-12 in the round of 16.

Malak continued the good performances and managed to overcome Australia’s Ruth Hook 6-17 in the quarter-finals, then she was able to defeat the Gabonese national team athlete in a heated game that ended 4-6.
