Egypt’s defender discussed the differences between former national team coach Hector Cuper and current head coach Javier Aguirre.

Amro Tarek has been a regular member of the Egyptian national team since the takeover of Mexican manager Javier Aguirre, and was part of Egypt’s squad that recently defeated Tunisia 3-2 in the final round of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

“Hector Cuper used to ask us to give more attention to defence,” the Orlando City player told ON Sport TV channel. “Cuper believed that taking care of defence will help us achieve victory.”

“But Aguirre is asking us to attack more and to dominate our opponents,” he added. “The number of goals we’ve scored in the few games he led the team in proves this.

“This is not to undermine what Cuper did, but every coach has his own style. With Aguirre, all players feel that they have a chance to play.”
