Algerian referee Mehdi Abid suspended by CAF
Abid refereed the CAF Champions League first-leg final between Al Ahly and Esperance, when the Red Devils won 3-1 at home and lost the second-leg 3-0.
However the game saw several dubious calls that favored the home side including two penalties.
CAF Disciplinary Board have pointed out that there is a corruption suspicion that led Abid to direct the game in such a poor manner. The Algerian referee will be suspended from officiating any game until he responds to these allegations, while simultaneously having the option to appeal the decision.
