Agent: Mohamed Mahmoud close to joining Al Ahly
Mohamed Mahmoud’s agent Nader Shawky has revealed that his client is close to joining Cairo giants Al Ahly in the January transfer window.
The 20-year-old is one of Egypt’s most promising young players and has already won two caps for the Pharaohs, having been handed his international debut by Javier Aguirre.
The Wadi Degla midfielder has impressed since his emergence from the youth ranks into the first team, making 24 appearances for Degla, scoring two goals.
And according to his agent Mahmoud is only one step away from joining Al Ahly, “I was in a meeting with Al Ahly’s head of transfers committee Mohamed Fadl and Wadi Degla president Maged Samy, and they agreed on a lot of details.
“The player also chose Al Ahly despite the presence of informal negotiations from Zamalek. I think he will join the Reds in January,” he added.
Mohamed Mahmoud has featured for the Pharaohs recently, playing against Swaziland and Tunisia in the 2019 AFCON qualifiers and has been praised by Egypt boss Javier Aguirre.
