VIDEO: Klopp hits back at Aguirre’s comments on Mohamed Salah
Mohamed Salah has been a key player for Liverpool since joining them last season, and has managed to net 52 goals while assisting 20 in 69 games across all competitions.
Despite smashing records with Liverpool since his arrival, Salah is yet to win any silverware with the Merseyside club, losing the Premier League title to Man City and the Champions League final to Real Madrid.
And Egypt manager Javier Aguirre has said that Mohamed Salah could leave Liverpool in a season or two for trophies, which angered Jurgen Klopp.
The German manager was asked about Aguirre’s comments, replying: “Sorry, who is manager of Egypt? Who is it?”
When Aguirre’s name was mentioned, he continued: “Ok. So I try to be nice, eh?
“So I would say if he [Aguirre] doesn’t win a title in the next two years then he has to move to another club or country, that’s for sure.
“I don’t know why people say things like that. It’s just… it’s not that important. It’s the world of media. You find it somewhere, in an Egyptian newspaper or whatever, and the next one is writing it and I get confronted with it.
“Obviously, I don’t agree with that. But it’s a free world and he can say whatever he wants. That’s good actually. And I shouldn’t have made any comment to it. So maybe we can delete what I said a minute ago!” he added.
