John Antwi: Hard work is what has brought me this far
Misr El Makkasa forward John Antwi spoke about his recent achievement becoming the highest scoring foreign player in the Egyptian Premier league’s history scoring a total of 62 goals.
Following his hattrick against ENPPI, John Antwi surpassed the previous record achieved by former Zamalek, Smouha and Tala’a El-Gaish Ghanaian striker Papa Arko who scored 61 goals during his time in Egypt.
“Well I will say hard work is what has brought me this far,” he told FootballmadeinGhana.com.
“I have always believed in my quality as a striker and I knew to be successful I have to put in the work and be disciplined.
“This is exactly what I have done in my time here and I’m glad it is paying off,” Antwi added.
The forward scored 28 goals with Ismaily, three with Al Ahly and 32 with Makkasa. This season, he managed to score six goals, three goals behind Zamalek’s defender and the league’s top scorer Mahmoud Alaa.
