Agent: Mohamed Mahmoud received Dutch offer
Wadi Degla and Egypt international young star Mohamed Mahmoud received an official offer to join a Dutch team, as per his agent Nader Shawky.
The agent recently said that Mohamed Mahmoud is close to joining Cairo giants Al Ahly in the January transfer window after the midfielder has impressed since his emergence from the youth ranks into the first team, making a total of 24 appearances for Degla, scoring two goals.
“Wadi Degla chairman Maged Samy received an offer on Tuesday from a Dutch team asking for the services of Mohamed Mahmoud,” Nader Shawky said in radio comments to ON Sport FM.
“In an addition to the official Dutch offer, there is another offer from a German club. I am not saying this to raise the player’s price, this is not how I work. On the contrary, if he moves to Al Ahly, this will be the first time I transfer a player to the club.”
Mohamed Mahmoud has featured for the Pharaohs recently, playing against Swaziland and Tunisia in the 2019 AFCON qualifiers and has been praised by Egypt boss Javier Aguirre.
“Al Ahly want to sign the player, but considering the current circumstances the club is going through, there isn’t a person responsible for finalizing negotiations at the moment.
“If Mahmoud Mahmoud’s deal with Al Ahly doesn’t go through, I think he will be one of the few players in Egypt who will have a future playing in Europe,” he added.
