VIDEO: El-Shahat scores fifth goal of the season as Al Ain hammer Dibba
Hussien El-Shahat scored the second of Al Ain’s 4-0 victory over Dibba Al Fujairah in the 11th fixture of the UAE Gulf League.
The Egypt international has currently five goals and four assists to his name in 11 league games this season.
Al Ain took the lead over Dibba after only 15 minutes from the start through Swedish forward Marcus Berg, who tapped in Caio Fernandes’ rebound after it was parried away by the goalkeeper.
After only less than five minutes, El-Shahat received the ball in acres of space as he calmly collected the ball and skipped past the defender, before putting the ball past the goalkeeper, making it 2-0.
Meanwhile, Dibba came close to reducing the lead as Moroccan midfielder Yahya Jabrane converted a freekick with a header, however, the goal was called off for offside.
In the early minutes of the second half, Marcus Berg was able to extend Al Ain’s lead as Caio fed the player with a nice through ball inside the area and the Swedish was able to score easily.
Again Al Ain’s unstoppable duo switched roles as Marcus Berg launched a long ball pass to Caio, and the Brazilian remarkably overcame an ocean of defenders and chipped the ball over the keeper to secure a 4-0 win.
The victory puts Al Ain’s temporarily on top of the table as El-Sharjah still have a game in hand against Wasl Dubai, the team which El-Shahat’s side will face next week on the 3rd of December.
